Del Rio Police Department press releaseOn 05/07/2025 at approximately 10:32 p.m. the Del Rio Police Department responded to the intersection of Avenue G and E. 12th St. regarding shots fired in the area. Upon arrival police located an adult male with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. Police sealed the wound and waited for Emergency Medical Services to arrive and transport the victim to Val Verde Regional Medical Center for medical attention.

Competing May 2–3 in Burnet, Texas, DRHS was represented by three teams: The Smokin’ Rams, The Blue Flame and Certified Delicious. “This is a huge moment for our program,” said Adan Cortez III, the school’s Culinary Arts Instructor who founded the team.
