The hepatitis C Virus (HCV) remains one of the deadliest infectious diseases, despite the existence of an effective eight-to-twelve week cure. Still, of the 50 million people estimated to be living with HCV worldwide, 36 percent were diagnosed between 2015 and 2022, and only around 20 percent received treatment. Access to direct acting antivirals (DAAs) must be urgently expanded to save lives.
