KITCHENER — Retinal surgery has come to Waterloo Region, thanks to the donation and perseverance of a local man. “It feels very good,” said Savvas Chamberlain, president and director of the Savvas Chamberlain Family Foundation. “I had others who also believed in my vision.”The foundation donated $1.5 million to bring a new retinal surgical program to St. Mary’s General Hospital — a significant addition to the Kitchener hospital’s regional eye program.
