Sleek and fast are the main words to describe this 2025 Polestar 3 Launch Edition. First, the sleek: I counted a grand total of one physical button inside this midsize, two-row, electric SUV. It’s a volume knob that can also pause or play audio. Most everything else can be done through the big, 14.5-inch center display — even opening the trunk and the glove box. Voice controls are also a top option. The shifting is done through a lever on the steering column, thankfully.

Regardless of what you think of electric vehicles, this one is undeniably fancy. Prepare to be awed by the inside of this Audi Q6 e-tron Quattro, an electric midsize SUV. It’s not just the pearl beige interior that garners attention (though that certainly is nice). There’s a big LED screen for the driver, of course, but there’s also one for the front passenger. That one can show what audio you’re listening to (WTOP, of course), plus the battery charge level and the vehicle range, along with a clock.

When you think “luxury car,” something huge might come to mind, but what if you took all those creature comforts and threw them into a miniature package from a mainstream brand? That’s what’s happened with the Hyundai Kona Limited AWD, seen here in Ultimate Red Metallic. Black plastic body cladding around the wheel arches also gives this an off-road and almost Subaru-esque look. Hyundai calls the Kona a small SUV. It is most definitely small, and others even call it subcompact.

Rooftop surfboards and Grateful Dead T-shirts are not included, but retro vibes do abound in the microbus-inspired Volkswagen ID. Buzz — reincarnated as an electric vehicle. First off, do not get an ID. Buzz if you don’t like attention. You will get lots of looks and people will want to talk to you. This one got extra attention in what’s called Pomelo Yellow and Candy White two-tone paint, and also a Copper leatherette interior. This rear-wheel drive version has an EPA-estimated 234 miles of range.

When you think of performance and luxury, do you think Volvo? You probably should, based on a couple of recent examples I drove. Exhibit A is a lightning-fast two-row SUV: The 2025 Volvo XC60 T8 AWD Polestar Engineered. It’s not only a mouthful, but also a rip-roaring plug-in hybrid, looking good in Vapour Grey, which the brand describes as having “a misty touch, inspired by windswept Scandinavian limestone houses.” If you say so.

@Commanders HERE IS DUCKY HOLMES, @JohnAaronWTOP. The Iowa native played in ten big league seasons that included stops in Baltimore (the National League Orioles in 1898) and Washington (original Senators in 1903). He was no Jiggs Donahue, but then again who was? https://t.co/3p9giPYN8S
