Welcome to summer 2025. Summer began yesterday at 9:41 p.m. One of the paradoxes of summer is that the days will now get shorter by 2 to 3 minutes per day until the winter solstice, which will be Sunday, Dec. 21 at 9:02 a.m. Then the days will become longer by 2 to 3 minutes per day. I am sure your house, like my house, has been bombarded by folks calling, writing and just showing up to see if your house sustained any hail damage after a couple recent hail storms.

117th Street in the village of Lake Hallie is all torn up. Formerly known as Thronson Road, it is the main access road to the Lake Hallie baseball, softball and soccer fields. Along with improving the street, a bike lane and water lines are being installed. The water lines create a “looped” system, which will make more water available for firefighting purposes. The water will also get rid of an iron problem the area has had for as long as I have lived in Lake Hallie.
