“Abdication! A Cautionary Fairy Tale” is an unusual production—part variety show, part dystopian science fiction, and part multi-media experiment. Underlying it all is an invitation for the audience to consider how the choices we make—or refuse to make—in the present could affect our future. The play is anchored by The Narrator, portrayed by the charismatic Maureen Freshour and supported by two “Valets,” or sidemen, played by Patrick Cochran and Christopher Farrar.
