    Spring break week at Grace Christian School ended with both sets of Crusader stickballers breaking their opponents. The games were scheduled just an hour apart, but the Grace softball team destroyed visiting Thales-Rolesville 15-0 in three and a half innings of play, and the team had time to head down to Crusader Park and watch the baseball team deliver an 18-1 beatdown to Rocky Mount Academy.

    Grand strategy wasn’t working for Grace Christian in Thursday’s soccer match. So the Lady Crusaders went for ‘bombs away’ instead, and that worked. The South Wake Wolves, a team that MaxPreps doesn’t have in its database and simply calls them a “Varsity Opponent,” played Grace tough throughout the game and proved especially effective with their back-line defense.

    The Sandhills Athletic Conference baseball campaign has pretty much shut down this week, with most public schools in North Carolina having a spring break before a sprint to the end of the school year. However, Lee County and Scotland had a rainout to make up, and got their game in Wednesday. The game had massive implications for the 3A half of the SAC, as the Yellow Jackets were one of two teams in the conference that controlled their own destiny in the 3A race.
