A new statue of St Felix, who established Christianity in East Anglia in the seventh century, has been officially blessed at the town's Catholic church by Bishop Peter Collins, Roman Catholic bishop of the region. The ceremony took place during a visit by the bishop to "confirm" seven candidates at a service where baptised Christians reaffirm their commitment to the faith.

Felixstowe Lawn Tennis Club, one of the oldest clubs in the country, is launching a new year membership drive. Head coach Matt Hough hopes the excellent facilities in Bath Road will attract new members, both children and adults. Matt says January is the perfect month to take up the game as a new year resolution after an indulgent Christmas break. Matt said: "Happy New Year from all of us at the club. Why not take up tennis for 2024?

St Felix RC Church welcomed a special guest who agreed to visit and bless eight new windows in the nave. Bishop Peter Collins, senior cleric in the East Anglian diocese, said mass at the Felixstowe church on Sunday, October 29, during his first visit to the parish since his appointment. He blessed the large windows that had replaced windows first put up in 1912 which had become unstable.
