With the bankruptcy of Holzhauer auto dealerships in Storm Lake and Cherokee, it seems unlikely that the Ford brand will reappear in The City Beautiful, ending more than a century of Blue Oval sales going back to the days of the Model T. A sheriff’s sale has been set for April 23 for the Holzhauer real estate in Cherokee, and a sale of theStorm Lake property on North Lake Avenue will be held later to help satisfy the debts Holzhauer accumulated in unpaid bank loans.

WATERTOWN - Animal control officer Emily Mosakowski is hoping to find a forever home for Eddie, a 5-year-old dog abandoned by his previous owner in emaciated condition and rescued by a local woman March 28 on Sunnyside Avenue. Mosakowski said the owner of the pit bull/Cane Corso mix has not been found and no information about the owner has been brought to her or the police department.

The effect of Trump’s folly is being felt by millions of average Americans — like yours truly. Since 1984 we’ve been putting a few dollars every month into mutual funds, working to build a retirement fund to supplement Social Security as we navigate old age. That time has come.
