It's the season of extremes in the Triad. Potential record heat to end this week will give way to possible frost early next week, the National Weather Service warned Thursday. After expected highs in the upper 80s Friday and Saturday, Triad temperatures could plunge into the 20s in some areas Tuesday night. And sandwiched between those extremes, "heavy rainfall will be possible from a slow-moving front on Sunday into Monday," the weather service noted.
