The camp was made up of about 150 1st through 8th grade kids at Laurel High School Sunday. LAUREL, Md. — Local kids got the chance to take the field with a member of the Washington Commanders during a football camp this afternoon. Mike Sainristil took a break from his NFL duties to give back to youth who have the same dreams he had. The camp, put on by Legendary Sports Xperiences, is made up of boys and girls from first through eighth grade at Laurel High School.

17-year-old Caroline Mohamadi says her initiative, Play it Forward, has collected and donated over 900 pieces of sports equipment valued at $50,000. CHEVY CHASE, Md. — A Maryland teen is helping kids get off the sideline, providing free sports equipment for students in need. Caroline Mohamadi, 17, said she’s received hundreds of bats, balls and cleats that she’s used to help kids get in the game. "Just providing that equipment, it breaks such a huge barrier," she said.

City and faith leaders from across D.C. gathered at the museum Thursday morning to show solidarity with the Jewish community. WASHINGTON — D.C.'s Capital Jewish Museum reopened its doors to visitors Thursday morning, one week after two Israeli Embassy employees, Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrim, were shot and killed outside the museum. Ahead of the reopening, an emotional ceremony was held with city and faith leaders sharing words of grief and hope.
