Hazleton Area rallied with five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to defeat Wilkes-Barre Area 6-4 Monday in a Wyoming Valley Conference Division 1 baseball game. The teams came into the contest tied for second place in Division 1 and a game behind Pittston Area.

HUGHESTOWN - Lake-Lehman didn't have much problem getting baserunners Friday. The Black Knights' issue was using them to create a much-needed big inning. Then came the top of the sixth where four hits combined with three Pittston Area errors led to six runs and an 11-10 come-from-behind victory for Lehman in a Wyoming Valley Conference softball non-divisional game. Kaitlyn Brudnicki had an RBI triple and scored on an error on the hit in the sixth as Lehman improved to 8-1 overall.

Brady Youngblood homered twice and drove in four runs as Dallas defeated Western Wayne 21-7 Friday in a non-conference baseball game. Dylan Geskey and Dom Zangardi also homered for the Mountaineers, who scored seven times in the fifth inning to end the game via the 10-run rule.

Nina Barrouk had two RBI and pitched a complete game with eight strikeouts as Dallas defeated Tunkhannock 6-5 in Wyoming Valley Conference Division 1 softball Thursday, handing the Tigers their first loss of the season. Dallas led 6-2 after four innings. Sophia Maier was 3-for-4 with two runs scored.
