I don't like this rerun of 2023 & I really don't like the burgeoning narrative that the Devils aren't tough/physical enough. They're losing this series similarly to 2023, the Canes are deeper with players who can play both ways at the NHL level & NJ struggles to CAR pressure.

I don't think "getting stronger" prevents a shoulder injury resulting from careening shoulder first into the endboards. Sure, get stronger but the risk is always going to be there.

I don't think the Canes care very much about how tougher, grittier, or more experienced the Devils are. I also don't think you need to be a former pro player to be a GM. Tulsky's roster is schooling Fitzgerald's.
