Sap has begun to flow from the mighty maples into buckets on trees all over town. The sap is then boiled down into syrup. Did you know that it takes 40 gallons of sap to make 1 gallon of syrup? Trees are so generous. Never let the good stuff go to waste; lick your pancake plate clean.

To celebrate the new year 2025 a reconstruction of a 'Time Machine' was built in Newbold, Chesterfield. The book, 'The Time Machine' was written and published by H.G.Wells in 1894 and describes a machine that could go backward or forward in time. The plot of the book is the story of a Victorian Englishman who at a dinner party shows what he has been working on, a machine that could travel through time. He shows them a model which before their very eyes disappear.
