    Police have arrested four suspects in the murder of 21-year-old Elijah Joredell Daley, who was found shot to death at the Ramada by Wyndham motel in Lake Placid early Thursday morning. According to Highlands County Sheriff’s detectives, three young people who were in Room 224 with Daley are now charged with his murder, as is a fourth subject. In fact, detectives believe the three talked the gunman into committing the robbery that led to Daley’s murder.

    Detectives are investigating the early Thursday morning murder of a young man in a Lake Placid motel room. As family and friends of the victim, 21-year-old Elijah Daley, waited quietly on the driveway of the Ramada by Wyndham Lake Placid, Highlands County Sheriff’s detectives worked the scene in a second-floor guest room. A crime scene investigator could be seen photographing the exterior of Room 224 as a uniformed deputy stood guard nearby.

    Though no one was injured, homes in the neighborhood of Francis 1 Mobile Estates in Sebring bore the brunt of heavy winds that rolled through the area Tuesday night. A forecaster with the National Weather Service in Ruskin told the Highlands News-Sun Wednesday that there were no tornadoes in the system that damaged lanais, sheds, and other structures in the neighborhood on Sebring Drive. “It was a thunderstorm with 50 mph winds that did the damage,” forecaster Nicole Carlisle said.
