In my review of season one of Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, I noted that the Amazon program marked "a commendable and solid return" to the beloved world J.R.R. Tolkien created. Fortunately for viewers, season 2 ups the tension and drama leading to a stronger and more memorable sophomore year.

yes, mostly for hardcore fansIt seems like the only notifications in my inbox that come more often than Democratic Party money begs are Warner Records announcements of new Neil Young Archive releases. It's hard to keep up and so many are so good. Very little filler. There are 198 tracks in the upcoming Archives Vol. III (1976-1987) and I'v been sorting through that, though there won't be vinyl. Understandable! This recent one deserves your attention if you're a true Neil and Crazy Horse fan.

The new documentary Something to Stand For feels like a perfect antidote to the political divisions of today. Featuring Mike Rowe (Dirty Jobs), it’s a feature about great patriots and how they were able to overcome historical circumstances to become legendary historical figures. Rowe begins the feature in a conversational style with the audience. He visits a local diner and drives a pick-up truck, attempting to connect with viewers.

The new documentary The Blue Angels offers a brief history of the organization. In 1946, Admiral Chester Nimitz saw an opportunity to celebrate Naval aviation through public performances. These demonstrations allow members of the public to see firsthand the power, dedication and precision of some of the most prestigious pilots in the Navy. After intense pilot training, the Blue Angels tour around the country, showing different communities what these aviators are capable of.
