Wright and Sherburne counties, along with the Sherburne County Area United Way, are going to partner to conduct a Community Connect event from 2 to 6 p.m. at Big Lake Middle School (601 Minnesota Ave.) Thursday, Oct. 17, during the long MEA weekend. The Community Connect program and programs similar to it have been around for more than 10 years with various Minnesota United Way chapters.

This week, the United States Census Bureau released updated population estimates, and Wright County continues to grow faster than any other county in the state – number one by a significant margin in percentage (6.5%) and number two in total increase at 9,267 people – behind only Washington County (11,379), which is almost twice the size of Wright County (278,936).
