We scanned the suckler cows at the start vof December – we probably should have scanned them a bit earlier, but it is hard to get around to doing everything at the correct time. Because we only start calving in early March we were still able to collect a lot of information. I had already written down some simple notes during the main breeding season back in May and June, from observations taken while herding, including cows in heat, repeats and, importantly, cows that I hadn’t seen bulling.
