So when the Birds won the 2025 Super Bowl, blowing out the Kansas City Chiefs, Cusumano, 26, knew he had to make it to the Benjamin Franklin Parkway for the parade.     The identify of the seventh person killed by the medical jet crash in Northeast Philadelphia has been identified as Steven Dreuitt, a 37-year-old city resident, officials said Wednesday. Dreuitt was found dead inside a vehicle that had been traveling along the 2300 block of Cottman Avenue when the Learjet crashed at 6:07 p.m. Friday. All six people on the plane died. The crash also injured 24 people on the ground.

    Gregory E. Deavens, the CEO of Independence Blue Cross, plans to retire at the end of 2025, the insurance company announced Wednesday. Deavens took on the role four years ago, becoming the first Black man to lead the company, the largest health care insurer in the Philadelphia region. He replaced Dan Hilferty, who briefly retired before becoming the CEO of Comcast-Spectacor. Under Deavens, IBX saw its consolidated revenue grow from $21.8 billion to more than $31 billion, the company said.

    Kamala Harris passed over Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro when selecting her running mate, instead opting for Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, according to multiple news reports. The presidential candidate revealed her pick Tuesday morning, ending two weeks of speculation that began after she replaced President Joe Biden at the top of the Democratic ticket. Shapiro was among at least three contenders who reportedly met with Harris in Washington on Sunday. The others: Sen. Mark Kelly, of Arizona, and Walz.

This is sad. He pitched for the Phillies in the second baseball game I attended as a kid. Summer of 1994. Not long before the strike. He took a shutout into the ninth, up 9-0. Phils struggled to put that one away, but won 9-7.
