ObjetivoLos antipsicóticos siguen siendo el tratamiento de primera línea para personas diagnosticadas con trastornos psicóticos, a pesar de los efectos adversos que llevan a muchos pacientes a suspender su medicación. La interrupción del tratamiento frecuentemente se realiza sin el respaldo del médico prescriptor, quien puede temer una recaída del paciente. Este estudio tiene como objetivo comprender mejor el proceso de abandono de los antipsicóticos desde la perspectiva de los propios usuarios.

In 2019, Dr James Davies (Roehampton University) and I published a review of the research into antidepressant withdrawal effects. We found that more than half (56%) of people experience withdrawal effects and that nearly half of those (46%) describe them as severe.

The Joys of Announcing a Survey Launch on Social MediaOnline surveys are increasingly being used as a legitimate research tool. This article discusses their strengths and weaknesses. It was prompted, in part, by events on social media last month. On January 17th three ECT recipients and three psychologists, including myself, launched the first-ever international online survey for ECT recipients and their families,1 which will be open for at least three more months.
