After their reprieve from relegation from UCL Division One last season, Holwell Sports now aim to build something special and long-lasting under new joint first team managers Liam Wild and Miguel Desouza. Busy Bedford Town boss Lee Bircham has signed four more players this week ahead of the promoted Eagles' National League North season. Centre half Cole Kpekawa, versatile midfielder Lewis Coyle and strikers Shaun Jeffers and Tyrone Marsh have all put pen to paper. The 29-year-old Kpekawa joins from Oxford City. Cole was born in Blackpool and made his Premier League debut for Queens Park Rangers in 2015, and has since gone on to play for Colchester United, Portsmouth and Leyton Orient.

Head coach Mike Rayer further strengthened his Bedford Blues squad this week with the signings of Tom Price and Ilan Evans. Price, 25, spent the past season at Biella over in Italy, helping the side to win promotion into the Serie A division for the first time in club history – scoring two tries as part of their comeback win in the final against Parabiago.

Egerton Park delivered a commanding performance on Saturday as they defeated Barkby United by six wickets in the Leicestershire & Rutland Cricket League Division One clash, reinforcing their position at the top of the table. After winning the toss and opting to bat, Barkby started steadily, with Lee Wolloff anchoring the innings with a well-made 47 in 85 balls, including four fours.

New Mansfield Town goalkeeper Liam Roberts is not taking his status as first choice stopper for granted. The 30-year-old has just signed from Millwall where he played only two games last season and turned down a new deal.
