The better the outlook on our drought, the less combustible materials are available for fires to start, grow, and spread.     Heavy and consistent rainfall has led to several Landslides and Rock Falls around the region. Tripcheck is indicating closures and delays on OR-36, OR-38, and OR-542 alongside several delays related to high-water on I-5. As of this morning, OR-38 is closed in both directions 9 miles west of Elkton. At this point, it is advised to find an alternate route until further notice.

    UPDATE (2:30 PM): Current road closures from landslides and high water include OR-42 from Camas Valley to Remote, OR-138 east of Idleyld Park, and OR-38 located 9 miles west of Elkton. Additional delays remain on US-101 and I-5 this afternoon as well.
