Seven graded stakes winners, four of which have achieved glory at the Grade 1 level, will tussle in Friday’s exciting $500,000 Ogden Phipps S. (G1) at Saratoga. The 1 1/8-mile affair is one of the highlights of the Friday card and has assembled a superb group in a challenging handicapping assignment. Conditioner Chad Brown has a pair of major players in the group, and I will side with one of his entrants for the top prize.

A fine field of eight fillies and mares will travel 1 3/16 miles over the Saratoga green in Friday’s lucrative $750,000 New York S. (G1). Four of the eight in the excellent cast have achieved Grade/Group 1 success in the past, but the electric #8 She Feels Pretty (3-5) is the sure one to beat.

A total of four graded stakes races will be hosted by Woodbine on Saturday, and I selected a three-race sequence of the black-type tilts as the Pick 3 of the Week. $1 Pick 3: 2,5,8 with 3,7 with 1,2,4,9 ($24)A cast of 10 fillies and mares will jaunt 6 1/2 panels on the grass to kick things off. #8 Earhart has yet to run on the turf, but the daughter of Siyouni has been excellent on the all-weather and comes off a dominant victory in the Whimsical S. (G3) last time out.

A very good field of 11 fillies and mares will travel 1 1/16 miles over the Churchill Downs turf in Sunday’s $250,000 Mint Julep S. (G3). #9 Charlene’s Dream dominated the recent Gallorette S. (G3) at Pimlico at nice odds but was not a fluke for conditioner Ed Moger, and I’ll come right back with the fleet filly.
