Last week saw a lazy coastal city of Portimao, in Portugal, roar into life with African culture and music for a full week, as it hosted the biggest Afro-beats festival in the world, the annual Afro Nation Festival. Located in the Algarve region of Portugal, the southernmost region towards the Atlantic Ocean, the city has a population of about 60,000 people, according to records in 2022.

Airtel Kenya is entering the Kenyan home internet market with the rollout of home broadband. The Unlimited Home Broadband 5G Data Plans will also be available to businesses. It enters a market that is dominated by Safaricom Home Fibre as well as Zuku and Jamii Telecommunications Limited (JTL). Data from the Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) shows that Kenya's home internet market was dominated by Safaricom with nearly 37 percent, followed by JTL with 23.7 percent, and Zuku with 19.6 percent.

NAIROBI, Kenya, June 11 – The Insurance Regulatory Authority (IRA) has suspended the closure of Directline Assurance Company Limited, a few hours after the closure. IRA CEO Godfrey Kiptum said that the insurer is still operational. “The purported actions are null and devoid of any legal effect and as such the insurer continues in full operation as licensed and approved by the Authority,” Kiptum said.
