    Seattle police arrested a 36-year-old man who stole an SUV and then tried to get away from officers by hitting a cruiser, parked cars and narrowly missing a family, including a toddler and baby. Officers were first called to the 2600 block of 11th Avenue East in the Portage Bay neighborhood just before 7 p.m. on April 1 after a woman reported her Honda CR-V was stolen from her driveway. The woman worked with police to track her SUV to an alley near the 2200 block of Minor Avenue East in Eastlake.

    On December 19, 2023, Seattle police officers arrested three juvenile suspects who attempted to carjack three separate victims and eluded officers in a stolen vehicle. The pursuit started in the Alki neighborhood and ended in South Seattle. Shortly before 9:00 p.m., dispatch received several calls about three attempted carjackings and a robbery. The suspects were described as three juvenile males in a gray SUV. The first attempted carjacking occurred in the 2800 block of Alki Avenue Southwest.

    Officers have arrested a 48-year-old man who tried to rob at least six people with a stolen gun and then led police on a car chase in broad daylight on Jan. 9. East Precinct officers were called to a Shell gas station in the 800 block of Rainier Avenue South at about 12:30 p.m. in the Atlantic neighborhood. Multiple victims told officers the suspect pointed a semi-automatic pistol at them after they refused to give him money.
