Indian customs authorities in Mumbai arrested an Indian air traveler whom they suspected of concealing multiple rare species of wildlife, including venomous snakes, in his checked-in baggage. The customs officers said they arrested the individual Sunday at the Mumbai International Airport and seized 44 Indonesian pit vipers, three spider-tailed horned vipers and five Asian leaf turtles hidden in his baggage. The man was arriving from Thailand, the authorities said.

Greenpeace France activists “borrowed” a wax statue of French President Emmanuel Macron from a Parisian museum Monday and paraded it in front of the Russian embassy in the city, according to the organization. The group shared a video statement showing two of their colleagues throwing a black blanket over the statue in the Grévin Museum in Paris and whisking it away. A photo of Macron shaking Russian President Vladimir Putin’s hand was on a table in front of the statue.
