    Melissa L. Stoller, Pittsburgh, was elected on June 13 to serve a six-year term as bishop of the Southwestern Pennsylvania Synod of the ELCA. The election took place during the synod assembly, June 12-14 at La Roche University in Pittsburgh. Stoller was elected on the fourth ballot, with 189 votes. William Schaefer, pastor of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Latrobe, Pa., and Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Derry, Pa., received 49 votes.

The election took place during the synod assembly, June 5-7 at the Embassy Suites by Hilton in Olathe, Kan. Simon was elected on the fifth ballot, with 151 votes. Zachary Sturm, senior pastor of Atonement Lutheran Church, Overland Park, Kan., received 144 votes.

    Stephen R. Herr, Gettysburg, Pa., was elected June 7 to serve a six-year term as bishop of the Lower Susquehanna Synod of the ELCA. The election took place during the synod assembly, June 5-7 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in York, Pa.Herr was elected on the fifth ballot, with 258 votes. Angela Zimmann, vice president for institutional advancement at Wilson College in Chambersburg, Pa., received 206 votes. The bishop-elect has served as pastor of Christ Lutheran Church in Gettysburg since 1999.

The election took place during the synod assembly, June 6-7 at the College Park Marriott Hotel & Convention Center in Hyattsville, Md.Hirsch was elected on the fourth ballot, with 175 votes. Karen Brau, pastor of Luther Place Memorial Lutheran Church, Washington, D.C., received 70 votes.
