MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - Northern Michigan University is getting ready for Earth Day with a week full of activities for faculty and students to participate in. On Thursday’s episode of Upper Michigan Today, John Redfield and Tia Trudgeon visited campus to showcase the events different departments have in store for that week. Tia and John speak to organizers for a host of events taking place including one at the Ore Dock event, the Water Is Life Festival, a shoe drive, and a campus “stuff” swap.

OTTUMWA, Iowa — The Ottumwa office of The Salvation Army is not closing after concerns grew over a Facebook post stating it was. Viewers told KTVO early Friday morning that a post made by the organization that services would no longer be available at the location. The post has since been removed. KTVO reached out to The Salvation Army's regional office in Nebraska.

The 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom home is now move-in ready but despite the current high prices in the housing market, Holly Berg, Executive Director of Rippling Waters, explains how this home is designed to be more affordable for first-time homebuyers. "So, this house is definitely doing it through the homes for Iowa program," said Berg.

ELDON, Iowa — Since switching from a five-day to a four-day school week three years ago, the Cardinal Community School District has seen notable improvements in several key areas. Superintendent James Craig emphasizes that the change has resulted in increased student engagement and teacher retention.
