Q. My mother gave this pottery mould to me. We are from the Waterloo County, Ontario area and my mother and her mother (my grandmother) had relatives from Rosedale, Ontario just outside of Bridgeport. The mould is about 10 cm high, 25 cm across the top and almost 13 cm across the bottom (4 x 10 x 5 inches). There is a chip on the pie crust edge but otherwise in excellent condition. The finish is a mixed black, green and brown colour. I don’t ever remember my mother baking in it.

Q. My mother and father received this item as a wedding gift in August 1955. I believe it might have come from Italy as it is definitely heavy, indicating to me that this is marble and perhaps alabaster. It is in excellent condition, works well and is 32 long, 33.5 high and 11.5 cm deep (12.5 x 13.25 x 4.5 inches). There are no markings. I like its uniqueness and will keep it. Is this lamp of any value? Thank you on behalf of my mother and me. Laurie, Ottawa, Ont. A.
