    On a mild, sunny day June 10 at St. Michael-Albertville High, runners in the State Class AAA Boys Track Meet had almost perfect conditions. Hopkins senior Henry Risser was shooting for the all-time state record in the 800-meter run that morning, and he felt good coming out of the chute. Soon, his lead expanded and after the first lap, he was all alone in the lead. Even with no one pushing him, he was able to accelerate on the second lap.

    Head coach Mike O’Brien of the Eden Prairie American Legion baseball got some great news earlier this year when he found out that collegians Dawson Miller and Joey Goetze would be returning for another season. Miller, a fourth-year Legion player, is the starting catcher once again while Goetze is back in a familiar role as starting shortstop.
