Even though head coach Jane Reimer-Morgan of Minnetonka limited events for some of her top athletes in the Lake Conference Meet May 23, the Skippers still racked up enough points to add a Lake title to the state Class AAA True Team title they won May 17. St. Michael-Albertville and Wayzata were second and third in the Lake meet with Edina edging Hopkins and Eden Prairie for fourth place.

“Dear Daughter, Your Mom” by Sarah SmarshAngela Chen: I have a bad habit of skipping around when I read: last sentence first, pull-quote, maybe a few paragraphs in the middle, then back to the top. I loved Sarah Smarsh’s essay “Dear Daughter, Your Mom” because the last sentence made me pause and decide that I would read it properly instead of darting around. The first sentence is wonderful, too.
