Suspected armed herdsmen have launched fresh attacks on three communities in Otukpo Local Government Area (LGA) of Benue state, injuring at least three people. This development comes less than 24 hours after a deadly assault on Otobi-Akpa community in the same LGA, which claimed 11 lives. The attack on Otobi-Akpa community occurred around 6 pm on Tuesday, with assailants firing gunshots indiscriminately and burning houses.

The governor of Benue state, Reverend Father Hyacinth Alia, Sunday encouraged the newly appointed Chairman of the Governing Board of the National Orthopaedic Hospital, Enugu, Mr Benjamin Omale, to exemplify the pride and values of Benue in his new leadership role. Governor Alia made this appeal during the presentation of Omale’s appointment letter at the Benue State Government House in Makurdi. Omale is the current Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Benue state.
