Washington State's athletic organizations appear strongly committed to forcing women to compete against men in sports. On Monday, the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) revealed that a measure to protect women's sports, which would have mandated participating athletes participate on sports teams according to their biological gender, failed to pass by a single vote. It needed 60 percent of the votes to pass, and it got 31 votes in favor (22 opposed it).

NFL Hall of Famer and ESPN analyst Shannon Sharpe's lawyer released a statement in regard to a rape lawsuit filed against Sharpe. On Sunday, a woman - who kept her name hidden at the time - filed the allegations against Sharpe and said that she wanted $50 million in damages from him.
