Snohomish and King counties ranked Nos. 1 and 3, respectively, in the percentage increase of homes for sale in April compared to a year ago among the 26 counties covered by the Northwest Multiple Listing Service. But the combined number of closed sales for single-family homes and condominiums fell about 2.5% in each county from April 2024, according to NWMLS figures released Tuesday. Snohomish County's active inventory jumped 84.8% from a year ago and King County's rose 71.3%.

Pierce and Thurston counties saw roughly 30% increases in housing inventory in April compared to a year ago, but the number of closed sales for single-family homes and condominiums combined was relatively flat in Pierce County, up less than 1%, while Thurston County showed a 3.8% decrease from April 2024, according to Northwest Multiple Listing Service figures released Tuesday. Pierce County’s active inventory rose 31.6% from a year ago and Thurston County’s rose 29.9%.
