Tommy Prine's upcoming two nights of headlining at the Red Dragon Listening Room coincide with the music venue's final month of regular operation. Owners Chris and Liz Maxwell announced their retirement in February. Prine, the singing, songwriting son of the late John Prine, previously performed at the Red Dragon with his band.

Since 2002, the Red Dragon Listening Room has been Baton Rouge’s haven for singer-songwriters and their fans. Possibly no one loves the noncommercial singer-songwriter and folk music genres more than Red Dragon founder Chris Maxwell. He’s presented 1,326 shows, beginning at the venue’s original Government Street location and later at the Florida Street address it’s occupied since 2008.

Tony Haselden, the songwriter and guitarist who wrote and performed on LeRoux's biggest national hit, "Nobody Said It Was Easy (Lookin' for The Lights)," has died following a long illness. He was 79. A native of South Carolina, Haselden died Friday in Thibodaux. He attended high school in Thibodaux and graduated from Nicholls State University with a psychology degree.
