I must say I wholeheartedly agree with the Texas town named one of the 15 best small towns to visit in the United States. I write a lot about my never-ending search for great food. I’ve also written many pieces about my love for road-tripping and small towns. So, I was very interested in Smithsonian Magazine’s list of the best small towns to visit. I clicked into it, hoping to find a new town within driving distance to check out, and while a Texas town did make the list, I’ve been there many times.

Of course, someone was hauling a horse in the back seat of their pickup in the Fort Worth Stockyards. I would expect nothing less. I have a real love/hate relationship with the internet, especially social media. Whether you want to admit it or not, doomscrolling on social media is 100% bad for you. I do my best not to stay on social media more than about five minutes at a time, a couple of times a day. The negativity of it is exhausting.

Just sending some bibles to the inmates, nothing to see here. If you're mailing something to a prisoner within the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. It is heavily searched for contraband. It looks like in late May, two bibles were shipped to the James V. Allred prison in Iowa Park. The Texas Board of Criminal Justice Office of Inspector General investigated the package and tested the bibles for illicit substances. Paper within the bibles tested positive for synthetic cannabis.

Buc-ee's fans will soon have two new Texas locations to add to their road trip bucket list. While I’m sure there are plenty of Buc-ee's haters out there, I’ve only ever met one person who said they didn’t care for Buc-ee's. His complaint was that they were just too crowded for him. Admittedly, I’ve never been to one that wasn’t busy as all get out.
