A former Irish soldier has been convicted of murdering his Dublin girlfriend at a Spanish hotel. 34-year-old Keith Byrne faces three-decades behind bars after a jury convicted him of strangling Kirsty Ward to death with a hair straightener power cord after she told him she was leaving him. The figures show last month was 0.6 degrees above the average temperatures for April.
