CPS barristers can seemingly 'ignore' enquiries from its press officers (and therefore the press) without any recourse, I have just been advised by its press office. They can reply 'when able to' is the only current rule. I suggested a review as this seems too open ended.

This said by defence barrister today & was not challenged. It is unlikely to have been said as 8-9 % as such a specific figure! Plus expert witness giving evidence followed with 'to have such a high level missing makes it very challenging to understand the context (of messages).

The ICO is often a toothless tiger that doesn’t bother to go through all the public interest arguments and you have to take it to an information tribunal to get anywhere

@JonAustinjourn1 It's an unacceptable tactic by authorities to delay. They use the extra 20 days under law to think up of a refusal & another 20 days for an internal review to take place, meaning 3 months before you can complain to ICO. This is 101 how to delay release of damaging information
