It has been an eventful time in the city, and I’d like to take a moment to provide some updates on projects and issues that impact our community. First, I understand many of you have expressed concerns about road construction. The good news is that much of the work is nearing completion, and by the time this letter reaches you, some projects may already be finished. While these projects can feel disruptive, they are necessary improvements that ensure smoother, safer roads for years to come.

The series of town halls is hosted by America PAC, which is a pro-Trump organization founded by Musk. “Currently, I have 3 talks scheduled in Pennsylvania, but will probably do half a dozen throughout the state,” Musk wrote on X early Thursday morning.

I am writing to you after attending leadership training through Missouri River Energy Services (MRES), which helps provide our City with public power and resources. The training was highly informative, and I feel even more confident in the strength of our public power and energy services. Public Power Week is coming up soon, and I encourage everyone to attend the annual open house hosted by the Light and Power Department.

This month has flown by! We kicked things off with the Clay County Fair, which, in my opinion, was one of the best yet. It was wonderful to see everyone enjoying the entertainment and gathering for the community picnic. Following the fair weekend, city staff and council turned our attention to reviewing the budget. A great deal of effort goes into this process, and I want to acknowledge the incredible job our staff does in organizing and presenting everything clearly to the council.
