Studios and theatres operator, Troubadour, is to launch vfx house JFX (Jellyfish FX), a new boutique visual effects studio formed by the former leadership team behind Jellyfish Pictures’ VFX division. JFX is a fresh venture under the Troubadour Studios banner, having acquired the trademark and branding rights from Jellyfish. The company insignia incorporates the recognised Jellyfish name, with full support from Phil Dobree, original Jellyfish Pictures founder.

Sheffield DocFest’s 2025 Audience Award has been presented to Grenfell: Uncovered directed by Olaide Sadiq and produced by Ahmed Peerbux, Anna Prichard and James Saville. The film had its World Premiere at the 32st edition of Sheffield DocFest on 19 June 2024. Director Olaide Sadiq and contributors of the film were in attendance for a special post-screening conversation.

Netflix has released a first look clip of The Garden Productions’ Attack on London: Hunting The 7/7 Bombers. The series tells the story of one of the most devastating terror attacks on British soil and the ensuing three weeks of panic, paranoia and manhunts that changed Britain forever – told by those who lived it. On 7th July 2005, four British men detonated suicide bombs on the London transport system, killing 52 and injuring over 700.

Paramount+ original series Mobland, the second most-watched original series on the service hitting 26 million viewers to date, has been renewed for season two. The series is executive produced by Guy Ritchie and marks his first TV series for Paramount+. Mobland was created and written by Ronan Bennett (Top Boy, The Day of the Jackal), executive produced by David C. Glasser (101 Studios) and written by Jez Butterworth (Ford v Ferrari, Spectre).

All3Media is significantly expanding its unscripted development in the United States with the launch of a new wave of development labels under the umbrella of Studio Lambert. The new labels will focus on a range of genres, including game shows and follow-docs. The new teams will report to Studio Lambert’s LA-based President, Jack Burgess who has run the company’s U.S. business since 2018 in close partnership with London-based Chief Creative Officer Tim Harcourt and CEO Stephen Lambert.
