While she didn’t get a PR, she did walk away with a fifth-place medal. “Medal first, then PR is always nice too,” Simms said with a laugh. Simms tied for fifth in the girls pole vault by clearing 11 feet. “I’m happy that I placed, but it was still nine inches under my PR,” the Warrior said. “But I’m still happy with anything placing at states.”Simms did well throughout Saturday’s competition.
