    Google's Pixel Launcher is fantastic. It's short on customization features, but it has plenty of useful tools to help you get the most out of your Pixel phone. While other Android launchers offer more, the Pixel launcher focuses on quality, not quantity. However, it's not perfect. Google forces us to use features like At a Glance, and innovations made by Samsung to its Android skin are unmatched by Google.

    The endless barrage of notifications on our phones can feel overwhelming. While many of the messages and alerts we receive are important, the stream of junk serves only to distract us. Even if you don't have your phone on you while you work, notifications can distract you from sleep and relaxation. Even by dismissing notifications and checking them later in your notification history, you can easily lose control of notifications.

    Whether you like it or not, Gemini is coming to your smartphone. Google plans to phase out Google Assistant on smartphones in favor of Gemini by the end of 2025, with other devices to follow suit. This will be a dramatic shift for people who have come to rely on Google Assistant over the years, and Google's poor communication over what hotword will trigger Gemini is making matters more confusing.

    By the end of 2025, Google Assistant will no longer be available on mobile devices. The tech giant is retiring Google Assistant whether you like it or not and isn't stopping at phones and tablets. Cars, headphones, and smartwatches will all switch over to Gemini at a later date. However, the transition won't be the same for smart home devices. Google Assistant is the default voice assistant on all of Google's Home and Nest devices, as well as many third-party manufacturers' smart home products.
