The Minnesota Timberwolves ' final game of the 2019-20 season came on a spring night in Houston. Like most games that year, they went meekly, falling to the Rockets 117-111 to finish 19-45 in the COVID-19-shortened season. D'Angelo Russell led the way with 28 points. Juancho Hernangomez was the second-leading scorer, and James Johnson was third. Jarrett Culver played 18 minutes. That team missed the playoffs for the 15th time in 16 seasons.

The All-Star took exception to a foul call by referee Ray Acosta, who quickly issued a technical foul.

When Elston Turner devises the Minnesota Timberwolves' defensive game plan, he does so with a smile on his face. He knows he has a weapon at his disposal that most defensive coordinators do not. Jaden McDaniels stands at the top of the Wolves' defense, the yin to Rudy Gobert's yang in the paint, and he's one of the biggest keys to the Timberwolves' chances as the playoffs approach.

MILWAUKEE - When the smoke cleared from an epic Minnesota Timberwolves defeat, coach Chris Finch said exactly what he had to say. Losing a 24-point lead with 10 minutes to play against the Milwaukee Bucks on a night when the Wolves could have moved up to the No. 4 seed in the Western Conference playoff picture was not a disaster, Finch said. It was not indicative of a team with an inherent flaw of being unable to sustain a quality level of play against a team that is more than beatable.

Anthony Edwards: "I said where was the F-in foul and they gave me a tech. I hope they look at it and rescind it so I can play in a couple days." "I'm praying they rescind it. I don't feel it should've been a tech. Me an Ray (Acosta) have a good relationship."

Bill Kennedy says Anthony Edwards was given a technical foul for using profanity. Both Chris Finch and Edwards said they didn't believe it merited a tech. We will see if the league rescinds it.
