ISO-NE plans to cut its winter peak load projection for 2033 by 7.2% and its summer peak projection by 1.8%, Victoria Rojo, supervisor of load forecasting at ISO-NE, told the NEPOOL Reliability Committee (RC) on April 16. The cuts are driven largely by significant reductions to ISO-NE’s electrification projections for heating and transportation, which Rojo discussed at length with stakeholders at the RC in March.

The troubled Texas Energy Fund has lost two more projects from its original list of applicants, raising questions about its ability to quickly add 10 GW of gas-fired dispatchable resources to the ERCOT grid. Connie Corona, executive director of the Texas Public Utility Commission, said in identical filings April 15 that both applicants had “failed to meet due diligence requirements.” The orders are not subject to rehearing or appeal requests, she said (56896).
