The June Pixel Drop update is now rolling out to Pixel smartphone users, and it’s the biggest update to date yet for a very simple reason. We’re used to Google’s Pixel Drop updates bringing new features to the table (sometimes only one), but this one brings with it a whole new operating system. That’s right, Android 16 is here much earlier than Google usually releases it. You can download Android 16 now if you have a compatible device – a Pixel 6 or later. There is one big caveat, however.

WhatsApp has announced that it’s adding ads to the popular messaging app, though the initial implementation promises to be relatively restrained. In a recent Meta blog post, the company revealed that it was adding adverts to the app’s Updates tab. If you’ve been ignoring this tab up until this point (guilty), this is where you keep track of status updates and anything new from a channel you follow.

The follow-up to the OnePlus 13 smartphone could be a bit of a downgrade in a couple of key areas, according to fresh reports. According to established tipster Digital Chat Station, the OnePlus 15 (Chinese companies tend to avoid the number four) will only have a 1.5K display – a clear resolution downgrade from the OnePlus 13 with its QHD+ / 2K screen. According to a fresh post from the website Android Treasure, the Poco F7 will feature a huge 6,500mAh battery, backed by 90W wired charging. Short of the Redmagic 10S Pro gaming phone and its 7,050mAh battery, that’ll be right up there as one of the biggest smartphone batteries we’ve ever seen, if accurate.

One of our favourite foldable phones of the past year is currently selling at a knock-down price. The Motorola Razr 50 is now selling for £499.98 over on the official Motorola UK website. That’s a £300 saving on its launch price of £799.99. Suffice to say, a 38% saving is nothing to be sniffed at. Especially given how much we liked the Razr 50 when we reviewed it last year. I reviewed the Motorola Razr 50 myself, awarding the flip phone 4 out of 5 and an Editor’s Choice seal of approval.
