Harry Pell will not play for Cheltenham Town before the end of the season, according to assistant manager Aaron Downes. The 33-year-old midfielder suffered an ACL rupture in the Robins' final friendly of last summer against Northampton Town, seconds before he was due to be substituted. He underwent surgery to repair the torn ligament and despite his rehabilitation going smoothly, the former AFC Wimbledon and Colchester United man will not be risked in the final four games of the campaign.

Cheltenham Town play Crewe Alexandra in League Two on Thursday evening (8pm kick-off). Michael Flynn's 16th-placed Robins are looking to end a run of four straight defeats without finding the net. Lee Bell's Crewe lie ninth, with only one victory in their last seven, leaving them four points off the play-offs with five matches left to play.

Do you feel a little hard done by? The first yellow is very, very stupid from us. The referee seemed to wave away the second. I don't think it was a yellow, it was an honest challenge from both players. We have given him an opportunity to give a second yellow. Tommy Backwell got booked as well, which was never a booking. I am a little bit disappointed with that.

Cheltenham Town play Doncaster Rovers at home in League Two on Saturday afternoon (12.30pm kick-off). Defender Scot Bennett is set to return from a knee injury, but Matty Taylor and Ethan Williams are both ruled out with knocks. Promotion-chasing Doncaster are managed by ex-Robins midfield great Grant McCann, who was a key part of the 2005/06 League Two play-off winning squad under John Ward's management. This afternoon is Michael Flynn's 50th match in charge of the Robins.

“I want to keep playing until my legs fall off,” Matty Taylor says defiantly with his 35th birthday passing last Sunday. The Cheltenham Town striker has never relied on raw speed or physicality, but he remains exceptionally adept at the hardest element of the game: sticking the ball in the net. With a year left to run on his Robins contract, Taylor is doing all he can to make the most of the time he has left in professional football, but he has already started planning for the future.
