We have another nice summer-like day on tap with highs in the 80s and sunny, but smoky, skies. Interactive Radar | Weather Alerts The winds will be stronger today with a south breeze around 15 to 20 mph and gusts around 20 to 30 mph. This should be the last day of smoky conditions for us thanks to the next system moving in which will bring widespread rain on Tuesday. A cold front is moving in and will pass tomorrow.

TONIGHT, AND THEY REALLY COULDN’T HAVE PICKED A BETTER DAY THIS WEEK. I THINK FOR ANY KIND OF OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES. YEAH, IT’S BEEN PERFECT. I MEAN, GRANTED, WE’VE GOT THE SMOKE, BUT I MEAN, AIR QUALITY IS NOT TOO BAD AT THIS POINT AND IT’S WARM. IT’D BE NICE IF THE SUN COULD FIGHT THROUGH THAT, WOULDN’T IT BE? YEAH, YEAH. BUT ANYWAY, WE’VE GOT A NICE WEEKEND AHEAD TO. THINGS ARE GOING TO WARM UP. SPLASH PADS ARE GOING TO BE CRAZY, LET ME TELL YOU. YOU LOOK OUT THERE RIGHT NOW THAT YOU CAN SEE THAT SMOKE.

It is a dry and calm start as we have another morning in the 50s. Interactive Radar | Weather Alerts We will warm up near 80 for the afternoon under mostly sunny skies. Canadian and Minnesotan smoke should be moving over Iowa later today and for the weekend. The smoke will stay high above the surface with no anticipation for it to mix down to ground level. However, this will lead to some hazy conditions for Saturday and most likely Sunday.

It is another calm start this morning with temps starting in the 50s. Interactive Radar | Weather Alerts Clouds will stick around through the day, but we should have more sun today than yesterday. This afternoon will bring another weak chance for isolated showers and storms as the area of low pressure slowly moves eastward. We could see a few more funnel clouds today with these showers. Yesterday, most of the funnels reported were located in north and north central Iowa.
