Save over $40 a bottle on this extremely small production wine (just 100 cases produced) that spends 18 months in 40% new French oak and received a 96-point score from Decanter. Today's deal is the 2023 Benmar Pino Willamette Valley Pinot Noir. We love excellent Pinot Noir and today we've got a complex, layered example from two vineyards (one in Dundee Hills and one in Eola-Amity Hills) in prime Pinot country - the Willamette Valley of Oregon.

Does high altitude matter? We explain in our review of this tasty little Malbec, the Dona Paula Estate High Altitude Malbec. 100% Malbec from the Uco Valley of Mendoza, Argentina. 90% of the grapes come from Finca Alluvia in Gualtallary, Tupungato at an altitude of 4,430 feet above sea level and 10% come from Finca Los Indios in El Cepillo, San Carlos at an altitude of 3,610 feet. The wine is aged in first, second and third-use French oak barrels for 12 months and has just 2.5 g/L of residual sugar.

Flavorful Chardonnay for less than $4 a bottle? We review the Bota Box America Chardonnay in a 3L box. Cheap and easy, but is it good? Chardonnay from America, which likely means that this a blend of grapes from multiple AVAs across multiple states. We're big fans of box wine, for a whole lot of reasons you can see in that link, but at the end of the day it still needs to be good, right? We've had mixed success with the Bota Box wines in the past, so let's check this one out.

A French sparkler with a highly intriguing blend of grapes, we review the Specially Selected Fleurs D'Eau Sparkling Brut Rosé from Aldi. A rosé sparkling wine with an unusual blend of 47% Sangiovese, 23% Bobal, 23% Tempranillo and 7% Muscat from France. The wine is made in the charmat method where the bubbles are added in tank (versus the traditional method like Champagne where the bubbles are created by a secondary fermentation in the bottle).

An unexpected find. We review the 2019 Trader Joe's Platinum Reserve Nizza DOCG Barbera Lot #117 from the Bersano Estate. 100% Barbera from the Bersano Estate in Nizza Monferrato, Piedmont, Italy. Since this is a Riserva level wine it must be aged... #wine https://t.co/QdHdQI0PCX
