    The North Moore softball team lost in the second round of the N.C. High School Athletic Association 1A state playoffs in a 7-3 loss at Bear Grass Charter Thursday. The Mustangs (15-8) finished the year with the most wins in a season since the 2016 season.     The Union Pines girls soccer team claimed its first undefeated finish in conference play since the 2021 season, and the first time in the Sandhills Athletic Conference with a 9-0 win over Hoke County at home Wednesday. The Vikings (15-3-1, 10-0 Sandhills) used a hat trick of goals from Taryn Pekala to lead the offensive onslaught in the win. Grace Queen and Kylie DiMayo had two goals each, and Jaleesa Eichel and McKynlie Roett scored one goal each.

    The town of Robbins was founded in the late 18th century as a production site for the Kennedy rifle, and now the town will soon be home to a firearm manufacturer once again. OA Defense manufactures premium handguns, and announced on its Facebook page Wednesday that it is moving its headquarters to a 30,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Robbins.
