Swift, UBS Asset Management, and Chainlink have successfully completed a pilot for settling tokenized fund subscriptions and redemptions using the Swift network. This initiative would enable digital assets transactions to settle with fiat payment systems across more than 11,500 financial institutions, across over 200 countries and territories.

The discussion around tokenised assets and their use cases has surged in the past year. A recent study from BNY Mellon showed that 97% of institutional investors think that tokenisation is set to revolutionise asset management. Boston Consulting Group also estimates global illiquid asset tokenisation alone will be worth $16tn by 2030. As a result, many institutions are now looking to tokenisation as a way to create new markets, solve longstanding inefficiencies and overcome liquidity challenges.
